Authentic Self


I teach that we all have one purpose in common, and that is to come to Self-Love. To me, that means we are here to discover and live as our true self, our Authentic Self. So, let’s look at that…..

What is your Authentic Self? Who is your Authentic Self?

Is your Authentic Self that perfect you…the you that you aspire, and often pretend, to be? Is your Authentic Self the mask that you sometimes wear? I don’t think so. I believe that, your Authentic Self is the self you are ‘in the moment’….perhaps messy and emotional, or cold and distant.

To be your Authentic Self means to be vulnerable and courageous enough to be honest. To drop the barriers to intimacy and reveal “who” you truly are. It’s a challenging journey, but I believe the rewards are huge.

I see 4 key components to being your Authentic Self. They are:

1. Present…truly being present in the moment…..paying attention…and listening, to the voice within, and to others
2. Acceptance…we must quiet the self-critic, and stop judging ourselves and others
3. Courage….It takes courage to look within and to share it with others…..who may, or may not, agree with you
4. Vulnerability…..exposing yourself and revealing shame
