What is a “midlife crisis” anyway?
What exactly is the crisis? I think it is about finding your way back to yourself. I think you were born knowing your worth and your value. I think you were born with a loving heart and looked at the world with eyes filled with wonder. And then you were judged, you were measured, you were labeled, you were told how to be “good” and shamed for being “bad.”This is a judgmental world, with judgmental organizations.
Many religions teach of hell and damnation, of sin, of God’s judgement….of Judgement Day. The school systems label, grade and judge. Athletics teach of competition, winning and losing. The media tells you that you are too fat, too thin, too pale, too bald….even Santa judged whether you were “worthy” of a gift! Ugh!!
Let’s change this. Let’s teach the children about self love, about self care.
Rather than modeling judgment, and then telling children to “be nice,” lets teach them to “be nice” to themselves. Then you begin to change the world. By loving yourself enough to stop judging, by accepting yourself, and by sharing that with your children you can change the world one child at a time. If that was the community in which your children were truly raised, wouldn’t they then stand a better chance of remembering what they knew when they arrived…..their value and worth. Wouldn’t they then share that with the world? It’s never too late to change. Today, try finding those eyes filled with “Wonder”, and look through them at your world. {To read more blogs in this catagory {click here}
