Growth

This morning I sat and watched a foggy sunrise over my marshy, little lake. As the lake became illuminated I could see sunrise-300the reeds and water lilies that fill it this time of year. In a small pool of open water several ducks and geese were swimming. I thought about how, as a metaphor for life, this picture was so accurate.

We are often offered little openings……little windows, like that pool…..for growth.

Opportunities that are sometimes so quiet, so obscure that we pass them by, so busy are we rushing around. But when we do see them for what they are…..when we do seize the moment, we are often rewarded with far more than when we reach the obvious signposts, the significant goals in our life.

new_growth_images_-_Google_SearchCould it be that to recognize the small opportunities required of us all we have to do is to be present? To be completely available at that moment? Is that what is the real gift?

In our busy lives it is often so difficult to do, yet I think, it is really the ultimate goal….to live in the moment….each moment….and to experience it for what it truly is………whatever is happening………however we are feeling. It is where we grow. It is where we find joy and abundance. It is where we find ourselves.

It is definitely where we find our life. In the present moment,
the little window into the future.
