Happiness does not come and go….your attention to it comes and goes. Gratitude does not come and go, your focus on it comes and goes. Love does not come and go, but your ability to feel it may come and go. Love, gratitude and happiness are of your essence, who you really are. They are a stream of energy, of consciousness. It is the focus on struggle that gets in the way of feeling them, that creates stress. When you focus on “what is not right” it creates resistance. It shifts focus to what you “don’t want.” You will find it far more difficult to feel the stream of love, happiness, and gratitude when you are focused on what you “don’t want.”
When you allow yourself to “feel” happiness and to “feel” love,
gratitude naturally wells up within.
However, you do not need to have everything perfect in your life to feel gratitude. Appreciation and gratitude come from acknowledging. They come from looking around and choosing to acknowledge something, anything, for which you can feel appreciative, feel grateful. That brings it into your focus. That opens you up to your stream of love and happiness.
When happiness, love and gratitude elude you, look within.
That’s where you’ll find them.
