Your Inner Prostitute

What do you think of when you hear the word “Prostitute?” Chances are, it doesn’t have a very positive meaning. I imagine it brings up all kinds of images, mainly of women who sell their body…..who have sex for money.

That is only one way to sell yourself!

The Prostitute Archetype, which is alive in everyone, is about lessons in which you sell-out, or betray, your integrity/spirit for survival, or gain. Therefore, it is about selling out any expression of your Self, even talents and ideas. It’s Self-Betrayal. So, ask yourself…..

What are you willing to sell/betray yourself for?

Money? Success? Comfort? Security? Popularity? Approval? There are so many reasons. Are you aware of it when you are doing it? Also, do you sell-out others? The study of the Prostitute brings you face-to-face with your shadow, but it also allows you, through self-discovery, to begin to make different choices. To begin to honor yourself, to be honest and authentic. That’s the other side of the Prostitute. She is the light and the dark, the shadow you, and the illuminated you.

Ultimately, the Prostitute is about trust and faith…

The power of your trust and faith. When you trust, and have faith, no one can buy you. You know you can take care of yourself, and that Spirit/God/Universe has your back. Lack of trust and faith creates fear, and when you are in fear, you are in survival. When you are in survival, the shadow side of the Prostitute comes out for protection. You can be bought. So, the Prostitute is your ally, because she alerts you to when you have shifted into fear. Rather than judge and avoid this human archetype, embrace her.
