Victim Archetype

The root of the Victim Archetype is survival. It shows up when you feel that your survival is compromised, whether it’s physical survival, survival of your hopes and dreams, or survival of your sense of self. When stuck in your Victim, your story is all about fault, blame, and woundedness.

It’s your sad story!

It says, “It’s all your fault,” or “It’s all my fault.” You tell yourself no one understands you, that you are all alone, that you don’t, or didn’t, have a choice…that this always happens to you. And on, and on, and on. When in this energy you can be either the Victim, or the Victimizer. The Victim feels weak and powerless. This causes the behaviors of shrinking within, or striking out.

So many things in life can throw you into this state. You can be a Victim of your parents, to being a parent, to money, sickness, gender, stereotypes, so many things. You are also most often a Victim to your thoughts. Negative self talk  can be the most powerful Victimizer of all!

The Victim helps you decide what you will and will not do.

The lessons you learn from your Victim Archetype help you evaluate your relationship to power…being empowered in relationships with others and with yourself.

The Victim is the fundamental champion of light over darkness in you, in us all. It is about developing, and honoring, your journey of self-esteem through acts of honesty, integrity, courage, endurance, and self-respect. The Victim Archetype shifts when you are willing to finally say “enough” to adversity and your wounds, and shift toward something better. To strive for something better.

Join Evelyne Verrit and myself to explore the Victim Archetype. In this class you will explore, in depth, how the Victim shows up in your life and help transmute the energy using exercises, journaling and painting (no experience necessary…it’s process oriented, rather than result oriented!)
